In the Equity Research division, members will primarily focus on building a concrete foundational understanding of financial statement analysis, industry dynamics, and investment thesis development. This will entail concepts relating to revenue and margin drivers, profitability metrics, growth forecasting, and valuation methodologies. After establishing a strong conceptual base for analyzing companies, students will engage in hands-on work including building detailed financial models, performing discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analyses, and precedent transaction reviews, as well as generating earnings forecasts and investment recommendations. After completing this intensive learning curriculum, members will progress to more advanced topics such as sector-specific analysis, macroeconomic impact on equities, and complex equity valuation techniques. Throughout this process, members will also develop key professional skills, including investment presentation creation, report writing, and effective communication with clients and peers, all while expanding their personal network and enhancing overall professionalism.
