In the IBPE division, members will primarily focus on building a concrete foundational understanding of capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financial restructuring. This will entail concepts relating to time value of money, enterprise & equity value, and valuation techniques. After cementing a strong conceptual base as to how these topics work, students will engage in hands-on model building of three statement operating models, discounted cash flow analyses, relative valuation models, leveraged buyout analyses, and accretion/dilution models. After an extensive learning curriculum, members will progress to learning some of the more complicated aspects that encompass investment banking, such as private equity, financial restructuring, and complex mergers and acquisitions rationale. Alongside this entire process, members will also gain key networking skills and techniques used for expanding their personal network and enhanving their overall professionalism.
